Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the exact dimensions of each Advent candle?

Each Advent pillar candle measures 8 inches in height and 3 inches in diameter, providing an ideal size for prominent display in Advent wreaths or on sanctuary altars.

  • What is stearine wax and why is it better for Advent candles?

Stearine is a premium wax that burns cleaner and longer than regular paraffin wax. It provides drip-resistant performance, which is essential for liturgical use where candles need to burn reliably throughout Advent services without creating mess or safety concerns.

  • What is Sarum blue and how does it relate to Advent traditions?

Sarum blue is a rich liturgical color traditionally used in some Advent observances as an alternative to purple. This monochromatic Advent tradition uses four blue candles instead of the more common purple and pink combination, representing hope and anticipation during the Advent season.

  • How long do these Advent candles typically burn?

With their 8-inch height and premium stearine construction, these candles provide approximately 40-50 hours of burn time each, making them ideal for the four-week Advent season with multiple lightings per candle throughout the observance period.

  • Can these candles be used in both church and home Advent celebrations?

Yes, these 8" x 3" pillar candles are designed for versatile use in both church sanctuaries and home Advent wreaths. Their substantial size makes them suitable for prominent liturgical display while remaining appropriate for family Advent celebrations.
