Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the dimensions of each candle in this Advent set?

Each pillar candle in this Advent set measures 12 inches tall by 3 inches in diameter. These larger dimensions make them ideal for church displays and provide extended burn time throughout the Advent season.

  • Why are all four candles the same Sarum Blue color?

This set features four Sarum Blue candles for churches that observe a traditional monochromatic Advent wreath. This liturgical tradition uses one consistent color rather than the mixed-color approach, creating a unified visual presentation during Advent services.

  • What is stearine wax and why is it used for these candles?

Stearine is a high-quality wax that burns cleanly with minimal smoke and dripping. Cathedral Candle Company uses stearine wax in these Advent candles to ensure reliable, consistent performance in church settings where clean burning is essential for liturgical use.

  • How long do these 12-inch Advent candles typically burn?

These 12-inch by 3-inch stearine pillar candles provide approximately 60-80 hours of burn time each. The larger size and premium stearine wax construction ensure they will last throughout multiple Advent services and the entire season.

  • Will these candles fit in standard Advent wreaths?

These candles are designed for larger church displays with their 3-inch diameter base. They require Advent wreaths or candle holders specifically designed to accommodate 3-inch diameter pillar candles. Standard household Advent wreaths typically use smaller 1-2 inch candles.
