        Q&A

      Frequently Asked Questions

      • What is Sarum Blue and why is it significant for Advent candles?

Sarum Blue is a traditional liturgical color used in certain Christian denominations during Advent season. This rich blue color represents hope and expectation during the Advent period. These candles provide a monochromatic blue display that follows the Sarum tradition, offering an alternative to the more common purple and pink Advent candle arrangement.

      • What are the benefits of stearine candles for church use?

Stearine is a premium candle wax that burns cleaner and more evenly than paraffin alternatives. These 100% stearine candles produce minimal smoke and dripping, making them ideal for indoor sanctuary use. Stearine candles also have a longer burn time and maintain their shape better during extended lighting periods throughout the Advent season.

      • Are these candles the right size for standard Advent wreaths?

Yes, these 16-inch by 1-1/2-inch candles are perfectly sized for most church Advent wreaths. The 1-1/2-inch diameter fits standard candle holders, while the 16-inch height provides excellent visibility in sanctuary settings and ensures the candles will last throughout the entire Advent season with regular weekly lighting.

      • How long do these Advent candles burn?

Each 16-inch stearine candle burns for approximately 15-18 hours. This extended burn time makes them ideal for churches that light their Advent candles during multiple services each week, as well as for extended worship services during the Advent and Christmas seasons.

      • Why choose Cathedral Candle Company for liturgical candles?

Cathedral Candle Company is a recognized leader in manufacturing high-quality liturgical candles specifically designed for church use. Their candles are crafted to meet the demanding requirements of regular worship services, ensuring consistent performance, reliable burning characteristics, and authentic liturgical colors that maintain their richness throughout the candle's life.
