We have been using the "brasstone aluminum" communion ware for years, in fact we have owned two sets of them. Problem is that the covers keep cracking around the beaded edge on the bottom. My question, "Is the Brass Stainless Steel less likely to crack?"
Hi Dan, thanks so much for your question. i'm sorry to hear about the problem you have had with your brasstone aluminum trays. The aluminium material is definitely a more cost effective option, it's very light weight and can be prone to denting. Trays made with stainless steel is going to be a good mid-level material for trays, they are more durable than aluminum and less prone to denting. However, if the coated coloring is what is cracking than you may be interested in considering solid brass trays made by Sudbury Brass. These are definitely a premium tray and you will not experience cracking with them. The one important care note to make with them is that solid brass trays will require polishing for proper upkeep.
