        Q&A

Advent: The Arrival of the King

This year, churches around the world will begin celebrating Advent starting November 28. It is a profound season beloved by many, but more profound still is the meaning behind these time-tested traditions.

      How Big is the Candle?

      Each candle is either 12", 16", 17" with a 1½" diameter base.

Should I use Stearic or Beeswax?

Stearic vs. Beeswax: What's the Difference?

*Actual colors of candles may vary slightly

Stearic vs. Beeswax: What's the Difference?

Stearic Candles are made with parrafin wax and stearine which is a very effective wax modifier that has been used in candle making for over 150 years. They are most common because of their lower price point and adequate for most uses.

Beeswax Candles are the highest quality in candles. The advantage of candles made with beeswax is that they burn more cleanly (less dripping wax) and burn more slowly extending the life of the candle.

      Frequently Asked Questions

      • What percentage of beeswax is in these Advent candles?

These Cathedral Candle Advent candles are made with 51% beeswax composition, which ensures a clean, bright flame and extended burn time compared to standard paraffin candles.

      • What colors are included in this Advent candle set?

This set includes 3 purple candles and 1 rose candle, following traditional liturgical colors for Advent observance. The purple candles are used for the first, second, and fourth weeks of Advent, while the rose candle is lit on the third Sunday (Gaudete Sunday).

      • What are the dimensions of these Advent candles?

Each candle measures 12 inches in height and 1-1/2 inches in diameter. These standard dimensions are designed to fit most traditional Advent wreaths used in homes and churches.

      • How long do these beeswax Advent candles burn?
