    Tanganyika, Africa, 1896

As long as she has been alive, Tambika's tribe, the Hehe, has lived in conflict. She longs to become a leader who will stand up for her people, but her desire for vengeance puts her destiny at risk.

When Tambika and her friends break into a German armory to reclaim their tribe's silver, she attacks a young soldier and flees into the bush. During her escape, a cosmic light fills the sky and transports her to another realm, the mystical land of Glideon.

There, Tambika discovers an old journal containing clues that lead to an abandoned training facility. She learns that she has been chosen to resurrect Lightglider Academy and equip teenagers from around the world to rescue Gliddles and restore the land. Before she can help train the next generation of Lightgliders, Tambika must locate the Shield of Wisdom, a crucial component of the Armor of Light. Finding the shield will empower the next generation of Lightgliders, but Tambika must first overcome her desire for revenge and discover the wisdom needed to fulfill her purpose.

Through the Lightglider Origins series, readers are reminded that whenever darkness comes, they were made to shine.
