Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are O.C.I.A. candles used for?

O.C.I.A. candles are used during Order of Christian Initiation of Adults ceremonies in Catholic churches. These candles symbolize purity and new spiritual beginnings as adults undergo their faith journey through baptism, confirmation, and first communion.

  • What is Stearine wax and why is it used for church candles?

Stearine wax is a high-quality, purified wax that burns cleanly and consistently. It provides drip-resistant burning, making it ideal for ceremonial use where a dignified, reliable flame is essential. Stearine wax also burns longer than paraffin alternatives.

  • How many candles come in this pack and how are they packaged?

This pack contains 24 candles, with each candle individually boxed. The individual boxing makes them convenient for group ceremonies where multiple participants need candles, or for giving as individual gifts to ceremony participants.

  • What are the dimensions of these O.C.I.A. candles?

Each candle measures 9-1/2 inches in length and 7/8 inch in diameter. These dimensions are specifically designed for adult ceremony use and are the standard size for O.C.I.A. rituals in Catholic churches.

  • Why are O.C.I.A. candles white in color?

White candles are used in O.C.I.A. ceremonies because the color white symbolizes purity, new life, and spiritual transformation. The white color represents the cleansing of sins through baptism and the beginning of a new spiritual journey in the Catholic faith.
