Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the benefits of the 51% beeswax construction?

The 51% beeswax construction provides a cleaner, purer burn with fewer impurities compared to regular paraffin candles. This results in less soot production and a more consistent flame, making them ideal for liturgical use in church settings where air quality and flame stability are important.

  • What is Sarum blue and why is it used for Advent candles?

Sarum blue is a liturgical color specifically chosen for Advent season observance in many Christian traditions. This deep blue color represents hope, preparation, and the anticipation of Christ's coming, making it the traditional color for Advent wreaths in churches that follow this liturgical practice.

  • How long do these 20-inch Advent candles burn?

Each 20" x 4" candle provides approximately 120-140 hours of burn time due to the 51% beeswax construction and substantial size. This extended burn time ensures the candles will last throughout the entire four-week Advent season with regular weekly lighting during services.

  • Are these candles suitable for large church sanctuaries?

Yes, these candles measure 20 inches tall by 4 inches in diameter, making them specifically designed for larger Advent wreaths and prominent sanctuary displays. Their substantial size ensures impressive visibility even in spacious church environments and creates a commanding presence for worship services.

  • Does this set include everything needed for a traditional Advent wreath?

This pack includes four Sarum blue pillar candles, providing a complete set for churches that use all blue candles for their Advent wreath. The set covers the full four-week Advent progression with consistent color and quality from Cathedral Candle Company's expert manufacturing.
