        Q&A

      Frequently Asked Questions

      • What is a brass follower and how does it work with altar candles?

A brass follower is a metal disc that sits on top of the wax in altar candle shells. It follows the wax down as the candle burns, creating an even burn and preventing tunneling. This follower is specifically designed for Lux Mundi altar candle shells and helps maintain a clean, professional appearance while extending candle life.

      • Will this brass follower fit my candle shell?

This brass follower is designed to fit Lux Mundi altar candle shells with a 2 inch diameter. It is manufactured by Cathedral Candle Company to ensure perfect compatibility with their Lux Mundi candle shell system. The follower will not work with other candle shell brands or different diameter sizes.

      • What material is the follower made from and how durable is it?

The follower is constructed from solid brass with a polished finish that provides both durability and an elegant appearance. Brass is resistant to heat and corrosion, making it ideal for long-term use in church and sanctuary environments. The polished brass finish maintains its classic appearance over time.

      • How many followers come in each order?

Each order contains one brass follower. The followers are sold individually, allowing you to purchase exactly the number you need for your altar candle shells. This makes it convenient for replacement purposes or when setting up new altar arrangements.

      • What are the benefits of using a brass follower in my altar candles?

Using a brass follower ensures even burning of your altar candles, which extends their burn time and prevents waste. It maintains a clean, professional appearance during services and helps create consistent lighting. The traditional brass appearance complements church and altar settings while providing reliable, long-lasting performance.
