This study will look first at lesser-known followers of Jesus (Mary, Martha and Zaccheus) to show students that Jesus wants spending time with Him to be our biggest priority and that we should trust Him with the gifts He has given us. Students will then meet followers never addressed by name in the Bible (the paralytic's four friends, the widow, the leper and the centurion) and learn that God desires and is able to work through every one of His followers—not just the famous ones.
The youth worker article by Laurie Polich encourages leaders to use these stories to teach junior highers that we are all "superstars" in God's eyes—and we each have a purpose in His Divine Plan. The student article encourages godly attitudes toward money and material possessions.
